What this paper is about

Edit What this paper is about Content

Leading in today’s world is seemingly more complicated than it has ever previously been. Today’s leaders are required to lead vastly different generations of people, work in a context that is rapidly changing and evolving, deal emerging disruptive technology and understand a complex array of challenges and opportunities. Future leaders need to be multi-disciplinary, strategic thinkers, who have the foresight and the ability to take a big-picture, long-term view of an organisation. This paper explores contemporary and future issues that will support leaders to navigate uncertainties.

This goal of this paper is to examine current topics that managers can engage with to create and capture value in an uncertain world. Future gazing and foresight, as well as scenario planning for the future, will form part of the paper as the course explores controversial issues facing today’s leaders.
The paper will also examine threshold concepts and key practices that are capable of growing outstanding leaders. Students will construct a repertoire for performing leadership authentically in fast-changing and uncertain environments.
